Weekly Reflection
This week we learned about composition, we also finished up our head shots we had to post the raw one and then the one we made black and white. Then we also had to pick the best one we took and put it in a folder . Also we had to make a new folder for our composition photos we took on monday. I don’t like my head shots they look bad, But i still posted them. On thursday i think there was about 8 of us that made paper with andrew for a test, We saw how the class lights didn’t work and we had to use a light he had from growing plants. We had to test 3 different lights but it was cool to see the purple light work really fast. Andrew We set up the room where there is 3 big grouped tables and the room was changed a little. We cleaned the room a lot and we also took out all the stuff we needed. We moved some thing like the little book shelf and laid it on its side. We taped the door so light wouldn't go through the window in the door. The light team took the strands of lights and out the light bubbles in the bads to make the light a soft red brown color. My role on the team was i helped get the water and i also helped mix the gelatin. We had a lot of people at our table so everyone wanted to do something so we took turns. How the photo thing works you use the negative and put the glass over it and shine the light and the negative will cover the white parts and the black parts will be more exposed. Mike The 1000 word draft ( just 2 of them ) History I picked this photo of 3 boys that lived in Bakersfield, California. This photo was taken in 1938 by Dorothea Lange, the photo is of 3 boys and they are standing in a field holding garden tools. Back in the you can see the dry land behind them. This photo makes you think about history a lot and you think about how the whole family sometimes had to help picking and working in the fields to help get more baskets or bags. It also makes you think about how strong these little kids had to be mentally, physically, and emotionally. They had to move schools every new season and work on the weekends and after school to help their families pick more. This started because of the great depression and the dust bowl. These were big events in the 1900’s, The way it was taken This photo of the 3 boys, It was taken with a lot of thought. She had to get down at an angle close to the floor looking up to them to make them look taller. She also had the sun behind them so you would see their shadow in the front of them. She made them off to the side by a little not dead in the middle but off to the left. She also made it so you would see they are holding the tools and the dry ground in the background. The video we watched His opinion on in the speech is a very strong opinion, It seems like he knows what is he’s talking about and that no one will be able to change is view on the topic. Also I would want to know his background story and know what leanse he is looking though because each of those things are infusing his opinion. Knowing his background and knowing this lense he looks though then it helps to see where he is coming from.
